He became a director when the company was incorporated and managing director in 2004. He has lead the process of transferring ownership of the company into an employee benefit trust which was completed in 2007. He leads our student accommodation and cultural buildings unit.He was and is responsible for completed and current University buildings in Oxford at St John’s College and Balliol College and in London at Queen Mary College. In the conservation field, he led the team for the conversion of Boathouse 6, a Scheduled Monument in the Historic Dockyard at Portsmouth, funded by the Millennium Commission. He is responsible for the London Hostels Association’s Torquay House redevelopment and abroad, he is responsible for the redevelopment of the British Embassy compound in Bangkok.He has been responsible for office and mixed use developments, in particular Warwick Court, a £45m building in Paternoster Square, London, and a development in Wigmore Street, London. Also he was involved in the development of proposals for Battersea Power Station.Shortlisted competition entries include projects for Kellogg and Pembroke College, Oxford; Selwyn College, Cambridge; Brighton University; the D.H.Lawrence Pavilion, Nottingham; the RSC theatre Stratford and the British Embassy, Berlin.His experience in PFI’s include a bid for the expansion of the University of Hertfordshire. He led lottery funded projects for the British Institute of Biography at Royal Holloway College, Egham, and the British and Commonwealth Museum in the grade 1 listed old Templemeads Station in Bristol. In the last two years, he has been a contributor to the professional practice course at the Bartlett School of Architecture in University College London. Richard has taught and lectured widely, and published articles on urban design and architectural theory. He is regularly invited to be an assessor of architectural competitions and design awards. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and a Royal Academician. Richard has served two terms as a member of the Royal Fine Art Commission and has been a past commissioner for English Heritage. He served as President of the Royal Institute of British Architects from 1991 to 1993. In 1994, Richard was awarded a CBE, and received a knighthood in 2001. He is chairman of the Royal Academy Forum, was chairman of the Royal Academy Architecture Committee from 1998 to 2008. She became Company Secretary in 2004.Major project experience: Liz is the Development Plan Architect for the Universities of Warwick and Birmingham. The role includes producing a new Development Plan for the University Estate, the design of landscape and building projects and providing advise on proposals produced by other consultants. Other masterplanning projects include master planning for UCL in London and the West Cambridge Master Plan for Cambridge University.Other projects include: Harrow FE College - £89m new building setting standards for the FE sector. This project is also a key element in the regeneration of the town centre and occupies a sensitive site on Metropolitan Open Land. She has been an External Examiner for the Part I Architectural Tripos at Cambridge University and is currently an External Examiner at the University of Strathclyde.Liz developed the practice’s project costing and resourcing systems, including directing the development of new computer software called ‘ResMan’.
